What is Chiropractic?
A Chiropractor in Vaughan is a primary contact healthcare professional recognized under the Regulated Health Professional Act as a Doctor of Chiropractic in Ontario.
Chiropractors specialize in treating injuries and dysfunction in your muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints, bones and the nervous system. When you come in for chiropractic treatment sessions you will receive a hands-on approach to healthcare that is drug free, safe, and backed by science proven to be effective.
Chiropractors use a combination of a thorough health history, functional assessment, specialized orthopedic tests and diagnostic imaging (like x-rays, when needed) to help a patient understand their pain and symptoms better. Furthermore, a Chiropractor has the expertise to accurately diagnose a musculoskeletal condition and develop a unique treatment plan for you.
Why Choose Dr. Mathew Saturnino
In my practice, I have high success rates by using a multi-modal and integrative approach to treatment. Through my career, I have provided exceptional care to the members of my community, athletes, laborers and seniors. I truly care about your well-being and I am committed to helping you feel better, experience less pain and live better.
What to Expect on your First Visit
During a first visit assessment, I take the time to assess your pain in a methodological fashion. By analyzing the movements of your spine and joints, strength of your muscles and painful areas, I am able to determine the root cause of your injury. Further, through a Functional Assessment I can help you understand what muscles and tissues may not be working optimally through movement. This can help address underlying problems and once corrected, help improve your results. Additionally, if your condition requires an x-ray, they can be ordered without referral from your family physician.
My Approach to Chiropractic Care
Once I have determined the cause of injury and dysfunction, a treatment plan will be discussed that will provide the fastest relief and long lasting results. Most uncomplicated injuries may require 3 to 6 sessions to achieve the goals discussed in the assessment. A typical session in my office will involve a combination of chiropractic adjustments, medical acupuncture, deep tissue muscle techniques, physical therapy modalities (like ultrasound) and corrective exercises.
As a Doctor and educator, I will explain each step through your session so you learn more about your condition, understand how to stretch and exercise at home, and feel comfortable with the techniques performed.
